CELL PHONE: a necessary evil. DISADVANTAGES OF CELLPHONES

Cell Phone usage in the US has increased from 34 million to 203 million in the last ten years. Massachusetts Institute of Technology  (MIT)  survey  said in 2004 that cell phones was ranked as the one invention that people hate the most, but cannot live without . It beat out the alarm clock and the television. A Telephia Company survey –which is the global leader in performance information for the mobile industry- said that Americans average 13 talking hours a month – with the 18-24 age group averaging 22 hours.  Cell phones have revolutionized the way that people live. Since you can receive calls no matter where you are, you don’t have to stay in the same place all day waiting for an important call. You can also keep closer ties to your family.  Cell phones offer too many benefits to count, but despite the many benefits of cell phones, those advantages can become   disadvantages, especially in social life, costs and health, which very often are ignored due to the pervasiveness and necessity to use cell phones.
The first problem that we can contemplate is that having a cell phone impacts in our social life significantly. For example, using a cell phone is unsafe because increases exposure of spy, information traffic, or be the target of thieves or just lost your important files in case of losing or damage. Also, Cell phones make it difficult to create isolation when you need to remain out of contact with bosses, friends and family members, which decrease your privacy. Another way that cell phones influence our social life is when we start to forget good habits. Attitudes such as persistent ringing, loud conversation, distraction (which is the first cause of transit accidents), and unpunctuality are becoming more common and accepted, demonstrating that cell phones change our society.
Other trouble that we have to consider getting a cell phone is the economic effect. For instance, the cost of a plan per year is 1000 dollars, added software, hardware and tools for your mobile phone that companies are creating every day in order to make the necessity to use them. Likewise, cell phones create “Business dependency”. Financial industry activities require more and more contact between employees, customer and providers. For example, the national industry moves 3.6 billion dollars per year just by cell phones. Another case that demonstrates that cell phones carry economic embezzlements is the possibility of losing your cell phone.  Getting another one and recovery information fluctuates between 100 to 1200 dollars. If you consider costs, possessing a mobile phone is expansive.
Finally, the most difficult problem that brings cell phones is the potential health consequences, which are noticed in a long term.  Recently research has evidenced that the radiation from lithium –which is contained in cell phone batteries- can produce brain cancer and tumors. Also, mental illnesses such as Alzheimer’s disease (memory loss) and sleep problems could be caused by excessive use of cell phones. Another discovery by scientists is that children’s immune systems are still forming and the harmful effects of cell phones can be magnified on them, making long-term cell phone usage for kids even riskier. Besides, psychiatrists and sociologists believe that mobile phone addiction is becoming one of the biggest non-drug addictions in the 21st century. It is more than proven that cell phone use could endanger human health.
In conclusion, mobile phones are a great invention and almost a perfect technological breakthrough. Nevertheless, do not be fooled by this small and beautiful invention because they carry danger within them. Mobile phones are useful in a lot of situations. But one of the most important things is making sure you are free from your cell phone. It's OK to turn it off; it is not the controller of your life. You have to be focus on family, homework, jobs, friends, feelings, readings, sports, and yourself.   Now you know most of the disadvantages of mobile phones. Social problematic, unsafe, costs or potential health risk are some of the many disadvantages it carries. Cell phones are something that seems that we could not live without them, but we have to bet that the cell phone is to serve man, not man to serve the cell phone.

BENEFITS OF STRESS IN OUR LIVES

How many times we are about to be hit by a car? When was the last time that you confronted with an unexpected task deadline at work? After works, we left these situations away. But what happened in these kinds of “limit situations”?, the explanation is “easy”: the brain perceives physical or psychological stress, it starts pumping the chemicals cortisol, epinephrine (adrenaline) and norepinephrine into the body, the heart beats faster, blood pressure increases, senses sharpen, our glucose invigorates us and we're ready to run, or to   leap away from the car, to think faster or just work or do it.  How our body can do many things in just one second? The answer for this question should be that our body needs stress to a certain degree and it improves our lives and our skill in many ways.
One of the ways that stress is beneficial for us is in our mental State. For example, the best artist’s creation comes as a result of a lot of head-pounding frustration and borderline agony. “Stress often precedes or accompanies creative breakthroughs”, says Larine Kasey, PhD, a Pennsylvania-based psychologist and the author of The Confident Leader: How the Most Successful People Go from Effective to Exceptional.   In Addition, in order to preserve our mental abilities longer and to prevent Alzheimer's disease,an irreversible and progressive brain disease, people should  keep their brains in constant activity.  Likewise, an optimal level of stress may get you a rise in your job because maintain your being motivated, focused and energized, which are necessary in order to raise effectiveness.
Furthermore, Stress strengthens our physical state. For instance, stress keeps us   healthier after surgical or medical treatments, according with studies from Medicine School in UCLA. Also, a certain level of stress gets your body in shape because stress produces endorphins which are diuretics.
Moreover, Stress helps us to solve problems. Stress from a dilemma in our life to take big decisions in our lives, this type of worrying may actually be beneficial. Here’s why, says Dr. Kase, a physiologist from Setton Hall University, says “Stress illuminates our values”. Also, our capacity of reaction in dangerous times depends in our level of stress and blood pressure. Other example, how stress can be solving troubles, according to some experts, mothers who feel more stress may keep their kids out of harm’s way.
In conclusion, the theory of “stay away of stress” doesn’t mean healthier life always. Sometimes, we are re going to have to figure out what parts of our future we can control, and we'll need to engage with them thoughtfully. Fortunately, we have the kind of brain that permits be worry about troubles. Sure, taking care about our fears will be stressful. However, being preoccupied  isn’t harmful because being a little stressed should be convenient and useful.

The farmers don’t troubled that the rebellion should affect them believing that the animals cannot administrated the farm, but as time passes the farmers become more and more disturbed, and their animals become more and more emboldened.

Squealer becomes as the pig’s propaganda agent. He convinces strongently other animals that every effort that the pigs do is the best interest of the farm.

Jones, and other farmers, attacks Animal Farm. But, the animals, however, are well prepared. After an initial skirmish, Snowball attacks them and the men repulse this attack and Snowball sounds the retreat. Jones fires a shot at Snowball and wounds him, but this is not enough to defeat Snowball from pouncing in him and sending him tumbling to the ground. Boxer strikes one of the men on the skull, apparently killing him. At the sight of this, the other men, terrified, run for their lives out the gate. The invasion is over.
In the post-battle excitement, the animals suddenly realize that Mollie is missing.

The animal celebrates their victory. A medal called “Animal Hero, First Class” is created and awarded to Snowball. Furthermore, a medal called “Animal Hero, Second Class” is created, and awarded to a sheep which died when Jones fired his gun. Pigs determines to keep the gun and raised, to be fired each year on the anniversaries of the rebellion, and the battle was baptized as ‘battle of the Cowshed” because was there where the battle took place.

A SMALL COMPARISSON BETWEEN TWO IDEAS: CAPITALISM AND COMMUNISM

Capitalism and Communism are different in their political and economic ideology, also they are opponents. One of the major differences between Capitalism and Communism is with regard to resources or means of production. In Communism, the society solely owns the resources. On the other hand, in Capitalism, the resources lie with a private owner.  The other big difference between these ideologies which are in divergence forever is about the conception of individuality. For Communist, the society is above individuals but for Capitalists individual freedom is more important than the state.  As a result, Communism wants to abolish private property in opposition with Capitalism.  However, Communism, which states for “equity”, creates “levels of equity” and this becomes in economic exploitation to workers. But Capitalism is not far behind. Capitalism, which defends the idea of “the importance of individual”, is the first one in creates monopolies in order to keep the money just in one side of the society: bureaucracy. In conclusion, both systems become the society in a totalitarian system with terrible consequences for economy and human dignity. In fact, those ideologies are one against other and both of them have had the attitudes which each one criticizes in the other one.

WHAT TO BELIEVE WHEN DEATH TOUCHES OUR LIVES AND ALL SEEMS LOST? A LESSON OF HOPE

Britney Gengel was a sophomore at Lynn University in Boca Raton, Florida. In many ways she was a typical teenager – but everyone who ever met her were struck by her sense of humor, passion, and deep sense of caring for the less fortunate.  A few weeks after Christmas in 2010, she volunteered for a service project in Haiti, helping out at food stations and orphanages before the new semester began. “Brit" as she was known to family and friends, had fallen in love with the children of Haiti. She texted her mom and dad, "They love us so much and everyone is happy.”They love what they have and they work so hard to get nowhere, yet they are all so appreciative. I want to move here and start an orphanage myself.”

That was the last they heard from Britney. The next day the catastrophic earthquake struck Haiti and the hotel where Britney and her group from Lynn University were staying collapsed.  Her family waited 33 days helplessly including a mistaken report that she was alive before her body was found in the rubble. She was just 19.
No loss in life is as great as the one that results from death. Its stark reality sucks the breath of life from us all! It’s impossible to replace someone who has died. There is always a hole.  Losing children is particularly painful because we have in our minds that it should not work this way! But no matter what the age or circumstance death is crushing no matter what we believe!
Death leaves us with many questions for sure but today we get a chance to peek beyond the darkness to the glory! Do we believe? If we do what does that mean for us now? Suffering ourselves teaches us to have compassion for others! Well Britney Gengel’s family was devastated by her death in Haiti but they were also determined that part of their daughters dream be realized. Her life keeps them going until the fullness of the promises of God is revealed! Brit’s parents and two brothers established a nonprofit foundation to build an orphanage that will house 33 boys and 33 girls, 33 symbolizing the number of days Britney was missing. They are committed to building a safe, nurturing facility in which Haitian children in their care can grow, learn and thrive! That project is moving forward! We may not embark on such a major effort but what impact does our belief in eternal life have on us?
We do not have to mourn what we think we missed, we do not have to covet what others may have , we do not have to compare ourselves to others, success is defined by faithfulness not always by winning or by having the most, we not are not made simply to accomplish great feats without love,  without recognizing and cherishing the love of our dear family members and friends, we are not made to trample down our neighbors but to respect them, the world’ resources are not to be pillaged by careless consumption, but conserved and shared and on and on.
Hey we don’t live this life forever! We are not escaping death, so we can’t plan to. We can’t plan to save the people we love or ourselves on our own. It won’t work! We need someone to save us! God can! He revealed his power so that we might believe. Do we believe? Do you? Let God’s life-giving spirit bless our lives, wash us clean open and our eyes and make every day new and full of life no matter what happens! Our grief is only temporary not forever!
